FILESOFT CONTACT IMPORT STUDY 0.1.1
Local article review example — not published

Open Filesoft Contact Import Study_0.1.1.fmp12 in FileMaker Pro 26.
This is the saved, user-tested copy after adding the two ready contacts.
Expect 8 incoming: 0 ready, 5 blocked, 1 to review and 2 added.
Contacts contains C001, C101 and C102. Add ready contacts was repeated by
the reviewer and the total remained three. The screenshots in the article
show the earlier starting state as well as this saved result.

Work on a spare copy. Load review samples is a one-time loader; it does not
reset the saved data or remove your edits. Refresh checks updates statuses.
Review opens an unadded row. Save and return checks changes. Added rows are
retained as a receipt and cannot be edited through the review buttons.

Required: Source ID and full name. IDs are trimmed and compared without
case. A repeated active incoming ID or an ID already in Contacts is blocked.
Matching names/emails are review clues, never automatic merges. Confirm
different contact only after checking the row. Changing its values can
require confirmation again. Exclude/include retains the row without adding
it. Only ready rows are added; this workflow never updates existing Contacts.

Try correcting C103's missing name, excluding one repeated C104, or reviewing
C105's shared email. These additional branches are for further testing;
only sample loading, list display, initial addition and repeat-add behavior
were confirmed in the supplied native screenshots and reviewer response.

Contact review sample.csv contains the eight original fictional incoming
rows (UTF-8, comma separated): SourceID,FullName,Email,PostalCode.
Optional native CSV import on a disposable copy:
1. Select layout Contact Import • Edit incoming (Incoming table).
2. File > Import Records > File. Select the CSV.
3. Target Incoming; choose Add new records. Do not update or replace Contacts.
4. First row contains field names. Map only those four source columns.
5. Enable auto-enter for ID, WorkspaceKey and Excluded.
6. Return to Incoming review and Refresh checks.
Importing these same samples again intentionally creates repeat incoming
IDs that should be blocked; it does not reset the example.

Source IDs and postal codes remain text. Matching requires one consistent
source-ID scheme. There is no email verification, fuzzy matching, automatic
CSV mapping, merge/update workflow or production access-control model.
The example uses native transactions (introduced in 19.6.1); this review
uses FileMaker Pro 26 on macOS. Windows, Go, WebDirect, older versions,
concurrent users and failure recovery have not been validated for this study.
FileMaker Pro is required and sold separately. Native layouts are 1440 x 940;
smaller windows may need scrolling. The authored workflow has no network
requests, email or analytics. Use fictional data and keep a spare copy.
